Washington, DC Music Stores

Inspired by a post on DCist, I’ve created the definitive guide to Washington, DC music stores.

I just added Second Story Books & Antiques in Dupont Circle to the DCist thread...they sell used records and CDs and I once found a $3 copy of Jefferson Airplane's Volunteers. (They're also on P Street, which may mean they're the elusive "P Street Records?")

hey dan,
I ordered a cooper s today finally. When I test drove it the lady took me to a parking lot to do doughnuts in the rain. That was a blast. I made the DSC come on. I thought you might appreciate that.

Hi,

I saw your link on DCist and have a couple of additions:

Record and Tape Exchange:
9448 Main St
Fairfax, VA 22031
Good place to find used CDs/Vinyl/VHS/DVDs (even classical CDs!). Right next to Trader Joe's. The staff is also quite friendly.

Blue Dog CDs & Tapes:
Way out in BFE
1019 Caroline St
Fredericksburg, VA 22401
A little overpriced, pretty much fills the Best Buy Gap in Fredericksburg. An OK selection of used CDs, with some occasional gems.

P Street records is above the Subway next to secondstory books. It's a hip hop store.

Thanks for putting together the list. I've been looking for something comprehensive like this for awhile. (I know you posted in March, but it is quite helpful.)

There's "cd*gameexchange" which buy sell and trade music, video games and movies. They are located on 2475 18th Street (18th and Columbia) in NW DC. Thanks!
